I doubt the law can be fully repealed but maybe if theres enough push amendments can be made so it only targets the big platforms with the harshest requirements.

Until now it was just DNS blacklisting by the ISPs though, easily circumventable even without a VPN. The current situation in the UK is different and pretty recent, and it's happening here too with a bunch of porn sites, primarily Pornhub, that have started blocking French IPs as protest against the age verification that they would otherwise have to impose if they wanted to keep the site running in the country. Now you do need a VPN to access it
UK's online safety act seems way more extreme though, even JanitorAI is closing access to British users because of it, and it's just an AI chatbot website. There's NSFW content there through text, but at this point you might as well block AO3 and basically every place where people can write fanfictions
