Never. A sequel wouldn't even make sense due to the state of the industry. A complete reboot would make more sense. Starting with a big bang event with the appearance of Pong-chan and/or Odyssey-chan sounds right, or maybe it could start before that by having Neptune thrown so far into the past that she arrives in time to see the big bang event and acts more as a perspective character.

They have re released the original games multiple times now, from a quick google search they are releasing them on the PS4 this year.
The latest game was complete slop even big youtubers made fun of. The IP is not dead but it's for sure on life support, a new quality game could probably bring some atention back, but I doubt we will ever go back to the high that was the Steam release for the rebirth games
