That's only how he started out, which was pretty much the point. Yeah he just wants sexa nd touch tits early on or runs away and cries at times, but he changes/improves from arc to arc. The first big change is after the temple misison and the biggest after he meets and loses Tae.
But even then he never turns into an emotionless badass who easily solos everything.
Even up until the end he always works with others, thinks about how to save or revive others first, makes smart decisions, but still shows emotions etc.
That's the problem with MCs nowadays. You only get two extremes and they often don't change throughout the stories. Either a completel wimp who starts to run away or hyperventilate at the slightest sight or touch of a woman or any danger you get Solo Leveling or [inesrt overpowered isekai MC] who either start out completely overpowered or they get there within a few chapters/episodes and that remains their whole personality.
