What does /a/ use to keep track of the series you're watching and what episodes you've watched? Up until recently I've been using Crunchyroll and what I watched outside of that was manageable without any tools, but as they've been declining particularly rapidly these past few years I'm canceling my subscription and need to migrate my list of series I've half-watched somewhere.

I use an actual logging site since I like to be notified when new entries in a franchise are announced, and they have convenient tabs for lists of all newly announced anime.
So, I have an anilist account. Convenient enough for it, doesn't ask me to post on a forum everytime I log a show.
Also have anidb specifically for keeping track of subs on certain shows.

Hey, that sounds like it could--
>Requires an AniList, Kitsu or MyAnimeList account.
What the fuck? Why do I need to upload my watching activity to some server to keep track of it?

It's a program meant to sync with one of those services, so you don't need to login to mark the newest episode as watched.
It's a pretty useful service on its own, so making an account is worth it. So long as it's open and connected, you pretty much never need to visit any of those sites.

So the only two options are either to do everything manually in a text file, or to inform data brokers and their 23489528 clients that at X date and Y time you watched Kodomo no Jikan and Mitsudomoe?

the third option is to just leave all your streaming tabs open and restore session every time you turn on your PC and boot up your web browser

forcing yourself to watch a show you're not in the mood for is robbing you of the experience of watching it for the first tine when its exactly what you're in the mood for
