If it was me or probably any other famsubber, I'd have used the clip to vector graphics script/button to draw a transparent rectangle around the text, and used one of the transformation/tween scripts to pull the x points on the right out with a slow in-and-out. Just draw rectangle, enter some numbers for speed and accel, easy.

Instead, the yellow box is actually subs, and reads "nnnnnn". A custom style was created with the rarely used teletext-style closed caption box setting on with colors invisible on invisible. The box moving right was achieved by setting this line as a karaoke line and the "already listened to" mora coloring to invisible on yellow, then timing fake karaoke every few frames, which makes the box appear to grow in six steps equal to the size of the letter "n". This is a bit of a retarded "who would have thought of this" method, but uses pure Classic Aegisub and probably took a while to figure out.

That the subs have so much effort in them, but have flaws in the lack of motion tracking and whatnot, means their team seems to have genuinely have passion to do a great job, but are either stuck on the old version without scripting before the repo was archived and handed over to arch1t3cht, they don't know how to use the DeepCtl package manager to download Aegisub scripts/plugins, or maybe they just don't know what scripts are commonly used since they're not in the fansubbers chatroom and are clueless on which to use. Bruteforcing it with classic no-addons Aegisub is commendable, but come on. Just update Aegisub.
