I've read many romances and the best ones are the ones where the characters DARE to do things, instead of letting things happen to them by circumstance
If we're talking about the romance genre, shit like rent-a-girlfriend is what's considered "good" and popular in japan, guys who can't touch a person of the opposite sex without breaking down into tears and pissing their pants, endless ntr dramas and endless BAWWWW scenes where they don't do anything and only let the world do the actions for them, where's ANY character accountability? Where's ANY emotional matureness? And this is ONLY in the romance genre
