The way I see it, they wanted to make it more clear the masked dude is the one that killed Regto. In the manga, Rudo bumps into him and they both go on their way. It's only when he sees him again before being dropped off into the Pit that he puts two and two together and understand that the masked man is really Regto's killer. Except when you think about it, Rudo doesn't really have any logical reason to think that, he just feels it because he sees the dude grinning as he's about to fall.

The fact that he bumped into Apostles instead (and passerby remarked it was unusual to see Apostles in the slums) also reinforces the idea that Regto's death was a Sphereite conspiracy (something that has not be directly said in the manga, but heavily hinted at), like they were hanging around waiting for Regto to die and for Rudo to find him so they could pin it on him.

Author does some interesting world building, but always fails.
Like he removed Iris from the last 40% of the story.
She disappeared around chapter 120 if I remember correctly in a Manga with 208 chapters or so and only came back in the last 4.
Similar with Amaterasu who was teased, but ended up being a non character that did a double suicide off screen with Iris to initiate the end of the world.
She was a character for like 1 or 2 chapters before she decided to be dead again.

I finally gave in and binged the manga today after watching the episode.

Surprised there hadn't been more that had happened. Everything has felt moreso as buildup and establishing characters, especially with how few people each arc actually get fully dealt with in one go.
As for the murderer, I don't think he's going to be dealt with any time soon. He's clearly up to something now, but I don't know if we'll see the outcome of it next arc or a bit further down the line. Depends on if the current stuff is actually put down in one fell swoop or if it'll also expand into a further/future arc.

I honestly just read it a couple weeks before the anime released. And the thing that I liked the most is the character designs and how the author uses perspective, makes me wonder how her brain sees the word. I honestly think it's a super impressive work in the technical art(skill) department. I don't hate the latest arc but honestly it feels absurdly slow, to the point that I kinda lose the point/interest. I think it'll be way better once completed though.

So with 24 episodes, how far will this season get you think?
They're currently around 2.5 chapters an episode. Which creates a pretty bad pace for where we'd end up. Chapter 60 (24 x 2.5) is literally the chapter where Jabber and Zanka get high together. It's in the middle of a huge arc. That arc doesn't end till chapter 80 though, so we'd need a WAY faster pace to get there.
Do you think they're going to speed along through some of the action stuff once it gets going or what?
