In regards to the Operator thing, people assume it's for the sake of the shooter, but I think it's likely more for the sake of the Operators, who aren't used to being in combat. While yes, it would be best if they had the proper reflexes and reactions, their role so far hasn't had anything to do with that, and even previous Away missions had them stay inside. They're essentially testing the waters, and this is the compromise to see if it's viable to allow them to leave the ship.

So, here’s how I think the combat phase will go.

I think the main difference between the A-rank teams and the B-rank teams cat wants to show us is teamwork. When you compare the ranks individually, the B-Ranks have more monsters than the A's. If you exclude Tamakoma that is

Maayybe you can add to that Ko and Katori too.

So the idea is that the A-rank teams, with their solid teamwork, will just annihilate the B-ranks in the first half of the exam, while the B-teams are still stumbling around trying to put their own teamwork together. Meanwhile, the B-rank teams will have to either make a comeback or hold their ground until the 36 hours are up. I imagine we’ll see some breakthroughs from low-point agents like Kage, Katori, and maybe some others who haven’t really shown much yet, like Urushima and Taichi. The trion soldiers being the key to enable a comeback.
