If you believe that Umiri loves Taki, then you'll also have to accept that Taki's affections are elsewhere right now. The lonely girl with one friend, deep trust issues, and a fear of abandonment would be the last person to confess to someone who loves someone else and jeopardize her only real friendship. (The alternative scenario is that she doesn't know Taki is smitten by Tomori and goes ahead and confesses. That would be a fucking disaster.)

i'm reading "the song of the cid." i won't tell you the whole story, but this is what is relevant:

the cid loses the king's favor and is exiled, he must leave the king's grounds. this is in spain during the reconquista, so the neighbouring territories are hostile or contested. the king has made it known that nobody is to help the cid, else they will be killed and/or have their property confiscated. the cid is a famed warrior and some can smell opportunity in his coming adventures, so despite the king's threats they leave with him for moor territory. adventures follow and the cid amasses enough booty to part with some to send the king in hopes of regaining his friendship. the cid gradually regains his rights, to the point that the king permits for his men to leave his side and join the cid if they so desire at no risk to their life or property. this is good, but it changes the relationship the cid has with his men. now they're risking less, they're not soldiers of fortune but parasites looking to profit from an already successful campaign, so the cid instates a policy that all men serving under him are to be identified so that they can't leave without his consent, otherwise they will be hanged. what is important here is that the cid must artificially weaken the position of his men once they're no longer at risk to continue to assure their loyalty.

the parallel here is to umiri's bridge burning, leaving every other band. the problem is that the relationship is inverted, umiri has weakened her own position, trying to pass for an enticing slave to an unwilling master. it's not useful to unlock a door for someone that walks past it.

this isn't new ground, but i dislike it that there's so much discussion here of the characters' states of mind and not so much the practical reasons why their actions attain their ends or not, or why they are permitted certain courses of action to begin with.

They fucked up Tomori and Taki relationship.
Tomori's way beyond anime autism, so sometimes it feels like romantic relationships much less a sexual one would be impossible for her to comprehend, then they make all her "unique bonds/relationships" be with Sakiko, specially Sakiko, and then Anon, leaving Taki on the wayside and making her feel/look unimportant to Tomori, likewise, all of Tomori's development goes through those two, Taki's a minor influence at best, she's just Tomori's white knight working on the background and never being put out there and never really noticed by Tomori at all.
And for what? A billion Chinese fanficced AnSy to the top and then HatsuSaki happened. Whoops. No one left for Tomori now except for the undeveloped half-assed TomoTaki that unlike all the other "canon" ships of the franchise Like YukiLisa and PareChu2 is middle of the road in popularity at best. Just how do you fuck that up?
This is the crux of Taki, she's somehow a lynchpin on a lot of things when you think about it and yet she's perpetually in the background and never truly ever getting screentime or allowed to ever be relevant or have a real big moment of someone giving a fuck about her for her.
A prime example of this, not to give the TakiSaki crackers any ammo, but Tomori had her hang-ups over Sakiko, Soyo had her melty over Sakiko, where's Taki's anything over Sakiko? Where's her muh CRYCHIC? Like, not even anything hearty about her inferiority complex over her? All of Taki's melties were for Tomori, about Tomori, where was the one for her own's sake? Even if she's still got Tomori there surely she should have her own personal hang-ups about it outside Tomori? And for what? For Tomori to not notice and to keep getting hand-cucked by Anon.
One-sided all with zero acknowledgment from anyone. That's Taki.

I kinda want Season 3 to focus more on the Mujica members. MyGO already feels complete overall (aside from Taki’s drama with her sister). By the time we saw MyGO’s performance in Ave Mujica Ep13, it felt more like a bonus scene.

With Mujica, since their band philosophy changed in Ep13 there’s more room for growth and story expansion.

One thing I’m worried about is if it turns into a joint live with MyGO x Ave Mujica performing together. I just don’t see that happening realistically since MyGO is way more indie and obscure. Unless... Mujica scales down to a smaller setup like they did in Ep10.

A setup like Afterglow x Roselia in FILM LIVE 2nd Stage feels a bit far-fetched. I think the scale of the live performance in Guam from the movie is probably a good middle ground for them to settle on.

After two seasons and seeing what the fanbase likes and have settled in the smart thing to do would be to start feeding them what they ask and start working around what's already there.
No point on trying to push or start, I don't know, BasedoNyamu or something. No one's asking for that, and would just make everyone pissed that time's being wasted on that instead of developing what's already there and everyone already likes.

HatsuTomo isn't exactly new, per se, nor should the writing revolve around satisfying the fantasies of rabid shippers. There can conceivably be plenty of opportunities in S3 for Tomori and Hatsune to meaningfully interact and potentially get closer as friends. The rest will just be shipper delusions, come what may.

Seeing people talk about what they think will happen based on fandom shipping trends is disheartening. We're not that important. I would hope that Bushiroad has learned that what people want is a good script. Shippers will just do what shippers do.

Perhaps, however, fanbase perception is important in terms of fancontent, I'm sure everyone likes seeing fancontent of the characters they like, and because sometimes the companies themselves, seeing what the fans like, decide to pander to them.
I'm not gonna stick my head into the ground like an ostrich and pretend fanbase reaction and tastes does not matter. At the end of the day, this stuff is a business first and foremost.
