Worst thing that happened to this reboot was the production committee discovering that they had a fujo and homo audience.

I’m not sure if the fangirls were supposed to be offended by the first Season 2 episode, but I actually kinda laughed a lot because it was true in my case. Despite them being all shitheads, I loved the sextuplets a lot.

The first season had a wider appeal. I would say that the target audience were a mixture of young men, people who still remembered the old showa anime and probably some NEET malcontents. Osomatsu-san was a great concept that had immense potential, but the committee then decided to narrowly focus on the fujo/gay audience. Extremely bizarre. And it naturally impacted the quality of the series as it went on, it became creatively bankrupt. It's honestly one of the most frustrating things I've ever seen, and a stark warning about the perniciousness and insidiousness of the homosexual man that will ruin your comfy threads with brothers fucking and sucking and eating cum out of each other.

I wouldn't tell because I've only seen the first episode and immediately decided that Osomatsu-san was still complete garbage. I'm just very disappointed at this reboot because there was a time where it was a show with a nice social critique that wasn't heavy-handed and had tons of soul poured into the production. with how things are shaping up if this is the last season and a goodbye to the brothers i dont know what to do man i’m being overdramatic but it’s genuinely a huge part of my life. after ten years of building a successful ip and ten years of so many fanworks it’s hard to imagine leaving this anime behind and all of the fans and fanworks will slowly dwindle once it’s over. the fanbase is already small compared to how popular it was in 2015/2016 but once it ends and people start leaving it’ll truly be a relic of its time. if there’s one thing western cartoons do better it’s that anything mildly popular gets maybe six or so seasons before throwing in the towel and there’s always attempts to keep the franchise going.

It’s a long shot but I wouldn’t mind seeing an episode where it seems like the birth order is messed, and it turns out Choromatsu is the oldest, Jyushi is the second oldest, and so on. I want to see how Oso would react on not being the oldest, how Karamatsu is seething that he still won’t be the oldest, stuff like that.

Of course, everything goes back to normal at the end, but after like the rest have exiled Choro for being so bossy and Jyushi has freakishly lost all his traits that make him Jyushi.

I thought they did an ok ending in the series, the creator specifically did not want it to outlive its welcome and I think that was the right call. There’s been a number of book releases since the end that add more lore for more diehard fans, one just came out very recently called the book of bill. I havnt read it yet but it’s supposed to be aimed at older audiences. The fandom had some of the strongest moments I’ve ever been a part of, the /co/ thread when they revealed Ford was nuts. The fan projects had so much soul. After the show ended there was an arg cipher statue hunt that was well done (I went on a single day trip to Portland and then a 5 day road trip around oregon looking for the damn thing). Clues were hidden Around mainly America but also Japan and Russia which was nuts. I recently rewatched the show and it still holds up (definitly not perfect though). I’d say try giving it a watch now, honestly story wise it doesn’t super pick up until the second season anyways.

Also sorry I didn’t mean the arg was a fan project, the arg was entirely done by Alex Hirch. There was just also a lot of art books, grunkle calanders and impressive fan merch that came out of the fandom also, TheMysteryShack in particular made some really impressive replicas of in show items.

Mabel’s attitude was definitely an issue, other big issues were the constant wendip plot points and the poorly placed filler episodes near the end.

Artist alleys at comicon usually have a range of professionalism, a normie can absolutely just sign up for one so long as you pay the $350 or so. I did around 10-15 of them before I got too tired, I just can’t do art as a job while also having a full time dayjob (bakery) and chronic illness. I’m trying to relearn how to just enjoy art as a hobby now.
