What is your opinion on AI being incorporated into the anime production pipeline? Is it a good thing or a bad thing?

Computers are very good at handling repetitive tasks, and animation is very repetitive and mechanical. Obviously animation directors and storyboarders aren't going anywhere, but surely it's a good thing that newer technologies are becoming more adept at creating anime?

I guess it's alright to use it to raise the floor on the average low budget production so you don't wind up with as much QUALITY in shows, but I think what makes good animation really shine as art is when the work in itself is an expression of human craft, which is antithetical to the use of AI.
I will say though, AI can make some very nice slop hentai. When there's no value needed besides blasting a quick nut I think it excels.

Almost all hentai is bogged down by absolute dogshit budget animation. AI already looks much better than the average porn.

I think asking whether or not AI is good or bad is irrelevant and retarded. It's like asking if airplanes are good or bad, or if the internet is good or bad.
It's the next progression of technology, and we're going to be using it in all industries whether it's good or bad, or whether you like it or not.
So, I consider the question stupid. Rather than obsess about whether or not you like it, it's time to start thinking about how to mitigate the negative externalities while taking advantage of its positives.
