Being chuuni about going all in on Explosion magic is fine but the idea that there's only one explosion spell and that it always takes up all your mana is dumb. And Megumin does have a shit ton of mana so far as i'm aware since she's in her mid 40s level wise which is relatively OP I think? I think all her stats are higher than Kazuma (except Luck) and Darkness (Who relies on enchanted gear) and her wisdom is probably ahead of Aqua's since she's so dumb.
So ya just give Megumin smaller explosions that she can spam she can still use her 1 big explosion per day though.
Beyond that i can't think of too much, maybe make her a bit more of a shit heel to get along with Kazuma better, they'd have a perfect 'childhood best friend' vibe is she was a bit more ruthless in social situations.

Her mana increases by leveling get offset because she keeps upgrading her Explosion.
She's always at the point where the only think she can cast is one explosion by herself, by learning and casting any other of the detonation spells she wouldn't be able to do her Explosion.
