Perpetually split cour and just sequels in general, it's gotten really common for me to sit out stuff I didn't like their first seasons of.
Traditionally in anime all I really had to avoid was manga I thought were crap getting adaptations.

Last years Winter season is hard to top with Dungeon Meshi, Frieren, and Kusuriya no Hitorigoto airing at the same fucking time. This season it's

>Dandadan if you can stomach the shonen emphasis that tosses aside character development for a long time
We've been spoiled quite badly lately there's usually 5 smaller series that are worth checking out per season
