I like how the last Kengan thread turned into a Grant Steele Hunger games thread with all the characters. Then it turned into actual kengan when Koga started doing lore accurate actions.
>Baki is hiatus till end of month >I am now forced to stick only to Keng-nite
Well.... at least Bouryoku Banzai has been a good read. Better then Sandro slop
>>281266546
The tournament that broke the camel's back. The average kengan fan will still question to themselves wtf Sandro was thinking having literal who jobbers in the tournament instead of characters already known. This made me understand all the shit Daro was doing with ai. Fucking lord
>>281267177
I wouldn't think it man it's pretty decent so far for a manga at 20 chapters total. The start is fucking odd with goon stuff but it's got potential.
>>281264664 (OP)
still confused on the rules for this.
there’s one coin and only the person who has it+reaches the goal gets the prize?
and they want their kengan fighters to work together?
>>281270844
It's to give a chance to gang up on the worm fighters, connector. Yet the kengan faction is probably gonna start stabbing eachother in the back. Both probably know this.
Bold predictions by me >none of the kenganvengers will backstab each other >the loopholes in the rules will not he exploited by anyone >shen will be fighting fodder the entire time >koga will accidentally be a finalist
>>281273319
They won't backstab each other but we will have fights between them just so they can jerk off each other >Hehe, I've been waiting for a chance to fight you, [Insert S-tier kenganvenger here] >I'm honored, [A-tier kenganvenger], I won't hold back against such a monster!
Bonus points if they go their separate ways after a short sparring to bully some low level fighters.
My wild specific match-up prediction is Julius vs Agito or Waka rematch (Julius loses again)
>>281267448
Exactly. For both of the threads, like over 90% of the threads were anons having fun with the sim. Barely anyone was actually discussing the dogshit nothingburger chapter.
I can't believe there are people who ironically thought the chapter was a good one.
I'm honestly really hype for the battle royale, it's such a great opportunity for some amazing fucking garbage, full of Sandroisms.
Can you imagine how much time is going to be spent on some complete fucking jobbers? Or how Sandro is going to try to make us believe that Himuro can beat Julius "under Battle Royalatory rules"? And we'll obviously have one of our stoic STRONG shitters get disqualified mid match because of the rules, that way Sandro can have them lose without really having them lose.
Of course, at some point Luohan or the Westward Wu will invade the island, and you'll have someone break the 4th wall and talk about how that's happened before, and then Medicine Man will show up and will humiliate Tiger Niko and defeat the rest of the invaders. If Medicine Man does show up then there's a very real chance that Hassad will too, and I don't if these threads will be able to handle that.
>>281274177
And of course, Kuroki will do what Kuroki does and duck the entire competition as Shen loses in the end (to Ohma, Koga never stood a chance) and then Ohma will still find Kuroki unfathomable, thus making him the strongest again without elaboration.
>Hassad shows up >Keng/a/n explode >Most viewed Omega chapter by a factor of 100 >Next chapter instantly drop to 0 views >People were only reading to see Hassad again
So there's gonna be a token "Strong fighter loses to a group of weak fighters"
There's no way Sandro would let his Kenganvengers get humiliated like that so my guess is it's either Jurota, Lolong or Toa. Julius is a dark horse pick despite being a Kenganvenger.
>>281274824 >So there's gonna be a token "Strong fighter loses to a group of weak fighters"
Yeah and "there's an enormous gulf between an armed and an unarmed fighter" sure bro.
So it's going to be shit, but what are some actually fun interactions that can come from all of this? >Assassins trying to one up each other, forming a massive stupid chain like a Kure jobber trying to sneak up on the hair guy who's trying to set off a trap on Terashi who's trying to perform a trickshot on the Kure jobber >Haruo runs out of food within the first hour and starts starving, causing him to go hunt the wildlife. In the process of hunting he manages to revert to his original muscle form
The rules of this tournament seem so fucking stupid
Why would anyone even pick up the coin in the first 11 hours, just incase the contegency lame win rule kicks in?
Picking up the coin early is just a recipe for getting swarmed
>>281276196
There isn't an off-limit area right away, so you need to hold onto it until it shows up. It's still super dumb though, if all they need to do is stop Shen from winning then yeah, just have Kengan jobbers hold onto it long enough until one of them count as the longest holder, and then throw it out. Bam, Shen defeated, manga finished.
>>281276372
It is, but it makes their relationship even funnier in hindsight. They just hit it off really well for no particular reason, Terashi saw Lolong as someone who deserved reverence and Lolong saw Terashi show up one day and decided he'd be perfect as a sidekick that he could monologue at.
I'm disappointed that their last "interaction" was Lolong thinking that Terashi should get serious, we never got to see Lolong's reaction to Terashi being a fraud or anything else.
>>281274415
Sandwich seems to draw the line at Kuroki. He's perfectly fine with shitting on everything else he's written and humiliating characters. But Kuroki is sacred for him.
Perhaps the only other character that comes close is Metsudo. He will never show Metsudo in any kind of a negative light.
>>281276649
That's cause Kuroki is the true protagonist of Ashura.
He defeats Ohma's rival, Ohma's antagonist, and the final boss, before beating the Ohma.
And Kuroki is a pretty good protag.
He's not the strongest, but he has an extremely powerful yet massively risky ability that causes him to get his fingers broken in almost every battle.
>>281266546 >agito wins >doesn't matter because the match against shen is a battle royale so he isn't fighting him anyway
I kneel. It's not often you get to see a literal canon filler arc presented so boldly and unapologetically.
Sandro needed to stick to the actual facts of the universe instead of constantly adding new bullshit and upping the stakes with worm drama.
Kengan is the top dog of underground fighting orgs because it's used to settle financial disputes between multibillion dollar companies and was anything goes, it needed new blood so it did the deal with Purgatory throwing a half-assed "elite" group (limited by faction politics) against their absolute best and winning. The arcs after this should've been about Kengan becoming partially public facing with some of the fighters doing Purgatory matches and some Purgatory fighters going underground and getting recruited by corporations to join the ranks of the corporate fights and Koga being one of the guys stuck in the middle needing to prove themselves because he wasn't a super elite like the Kengan Ashura cast.
Shit like the new generation should've mattered way more as a mix of Kengan fighters that got scouted by the secretary girls and are looking to get proper sponsorship instead of associating with Yamashita, Purgatory fighters that got to shoot up under the new rules, and new corporate fighters.
>>281277642
That's what Omega would've been if there was no Ryuki. Koga shows up, gets hired as a gofer, gets to see the peak of the mountain during the Purgatory matches, trains up and does a debut fight, his uncle shows up to kick his ass for getting into underground fighting.
>>281277767
Eh, the problem was that Koga at the very least started straight up at Purgatory level, who's clearly the uncontested number two by a huge margin.
We'd need a guy who really starts at the bottom of the fighting org pyramid and there's even a perfectly named org for that very concept with Underdog Fighting.
>>281277863
I'm reminded of Cosmo taking out some big deal ranked MMA guy with striking like it's no big deal. The difference between someone starting out at the bottom and making it to any serious rung of "the underground" as it were is totally arbitrary
>>281273319 >none of the kenganvengers will backstab each other
Nah, there'll be a token scene where some irrelevant fodder Kengan fighters gang up to try to backstab them and win the BR going HEH SORRY TOKITA NOTHIN PERSONNEL BUT I WANT THAT CASH, but immediately get steamrolled by a united front of core Kenganvengers. Think Hong level importance people, or some new generation fodder.
>>281277863
A normal guy who starts at the bottom has zero chance of climbing through the ranks, when all the elite fighters are genetic freaks or martial art prodigies.
>>281277863
Koga was Purgatory b-tier at the start, he knew how to fight dirty and had a background in karate but got dumpstered by everyone until he put on like 20 pounds of muscle training with the wrestlers.
>>281278002
I'm not saying to make him normal, just start at the bottom. >when all the elite fighters are genetic freaks or martial art prodigies.
You can say that about any anime and the MC always end up climbing all the way regardless.
>>281277981
Are you seriously implying that Ohma as he is now, needs help to deal with a few jobbers? The gap between the strongest and the weakest has considerably widened since the early days of Ashura.
>>281278039
Yeah, because the MC always ends up being a freak or prodigy himself.
>>281278038
I'd rather he teams up with Luohan and Niko after rescuing Xia Ji so they form the "Four Failures"
Xia Ji, the Rat Dragon
Gilbert Wu, the Monarch of Pronouns
Luohan, the Retcon King
The Tiger Kitten
>>281278092
If you're born as some kind of "chosen one", can it really be considered "starting at the bottom"? You already have unlimited potential, which puts you above everyone else in your age bracket.
>>281276304
Sure but if you just yeet the coin far enough into the ocean that makes it inaccessible to all but maybe a handful of characters. Hell, if you're someone athletic enough like Gozo you could probably swim out into the open ocean and get rid of it there.
>>281264664 (OP)
I can't believe Sandro plays Fortnite or something similar and got so mesmerized by the gameplay he turned the next arc into one big Fortinite match.
Sandro has this talent to find new ways to baffle you every chapter.
>>281278167 >can it really be considered "starting at the bottom"?
If you're last in the ranking and then work your way up without instantly shooting up, yes.
>>281278098
Yeah having him still be cooperating with Yan and Shen seems odd now that those two are basically heroes. But I also can't see a good way of justifying having him ditch them when he was explicitly stated to be a massive Shen dickrider before.
>>281278098
Make it five and put Yumigahama on board by establishing that he and Xia Ji met while fighting over expired cup noodles from a dumpster before he got his yakuza job.
>>281278071 >Are you seriously implying that Ohma as he is now, needs help to deal with a few jobbers?
Obviously no, it'll be to show how all the true Kenganvengers love Ohma and so do you! Every KAT participant will show up to declare how their only wish is to help him in any way they can, they don't need the prize, and Ohma will be like "Heh... you guys... let's all you wanna fight too!"
>>281276933 >but he has an extremely powerful yet massively risky ability that causes him to get his fingers broken in almost every battle.
Kuroki is... Deku?
>>281277528
While I agree that it should've been the main plot for a while, that's all material that should have and probably did happen in the two-year timeskip.
>>281278013 >Koga was Purgatory b-tier at the start
I wouldn't go that far. His fundamentals were all fucked up and he had to bulk up quite a bit before he could even fight evenly with the worst Kengan fighter. Koga was a huge shitter at the start until he worked on his balance with Adam, touched up his MMA skills with Kureishi, got bigger with the wrestlers, and worked on his footwork with Ryuki. Kokuro trashed him and Kokuro is probably middling B-list material.
Worm team is going to include the original verison of the guy on the right.
There's also going to be a Naidan clone that Naidan Huisheng'd his memories into.
