>Sake name is "Oni-killer"Jesus. How strong is that drink?
>>281267783Okay, so parasites have a mental link to each other and they're all brain tissue in the form of muscle. Does that mean that this Migi that is growing out of Shinichi will remember everything, or will his memory be cut short at the exact moment of their separation?
>>281267837Thanks, OP. If Migi doesn't come back, this might be worse for Shinichi than if he just died. Like how having a vegetative relative hurts more than them just being completely gone for good,
>>281267226 (OP)to be honest I think it was unnecessary for shinichi to run away and abandon Migi.
Goto was in a bad state, mige should have had the time and opportunity to reattach to shinichi and then they could finish him off
>>281268331Gotou was in a bit of a worse state than when he started but he still had more than enough power to kill Shinichi in the time it would take for Shinichi to reach Migi, or vice-versa. Even if his head were severed his parasite limbs could function at least semi-autonomously (remember Miki?). Migi told Shinichi to run because they couldn't get a clean ambush kill, leaving Shinichi dangerously exposed whether or not Migi was with him. As a result Migi could only try to distract Gotou while Shinichi runs away to save himself. At least one of them might survive instead of both getting killed by Gotou.
>>281268331Nah. Migi was just keeping up with the blades and running out of gas while Goto reattached his head. We saw the last second before he was overwhelmed.
>>281267763Interesting, Migi's big spread from last chapter used the same airbrushing technique you see on this page.
>>281267667Migi was the coolest guy (unironically)
Migi was a great friend to Shinichi. You could say he was his right hand man. Without him, Shinichi can never feel right again. The pain of being left runs deep.

>>281267453What is it about country females in this universe that makes them so frolicsome?
>>281267647>>281267628Widow/widower living alone are typically like that. You'll find that they tend to talk in a round-about way, or even going off on tangents. Diminished memory and information processing capacity of the brain of course play a role. But more often - they're lonely, and will try to prolong a conversation with another person when given the chance

>>281293577Shinichi's expressions are one of my favorite parts of the manga
>>281293605You can just imagine Goto ravaging that man like a wild animal
>>281293684Under normal circumstances yeah, but Shinichi does stand a better chance here than those people. Now, of they brought in the army they could kill Goto, but I can't imagine a way to do it that wouldn't result in a lot of collateral damage
>>281293856Really like how her face is framed
>>281293899Shouldn't he have taken a box of matches too?
>>281293921I really love this change in context around Goto. During their first fight he was essentially a hitman operating at the behest of a powerful shadow organization. Now he's alone and just a monster in the woods, or a big predator that needs to be hunted down. It's like the layers of civilization surrounding the conflict between parasites and humans are stripped bare to pure animalistic fighting.
>>281294016Yeah, my grandma is a bit like that.
>>281294078I know, right? She just shows up at the end of the manga and is just one of the best characters. Although to be honest, most characters in Parasyte are memorable and interesting in some way. They also disappear quickly, which makes them feel more valuable.
The "I must have been walking in circles" bit and the feisty granny stock character are part of why I've never really liked the ending. After the slaughter it just feels like a switch flipped to lead a manga that was very "simulationist" before that, where Iwaaki was mostly reasoning through what would happen given his premises, to a contrived cinematic conclusion. I guess there's no worse place to criticize a beloved manga than a storytime though.

>>281303192It's funny to think about.
>>281295615She just calls him Little Shin
>>281295546Whats wrong with either of the things you mentioned? It makes sense that Shinichi wouldn't make it far, nor would he know how far he made it since he was in such a state of shock. Granny is a good character, I don't see why you dislike this part.
I thought the implication was supposed to be that Shinichi could settle down as a one-armed derelict and be kind of okay for the rest of his life, the short distance works for tearing that down in a second. Maybe some angst too that he didn't accomplish more distance with what Migi bought him, to help drive him back out. What threw me is I forgot any environmentalist messaging from earlier, so pollution being the solution and the character feeling guilty for humans about it felt like a swerve to the end of an 70s monster movie.

>>281295595Yeah it's pretty cool after the bombastic events at city hall and a big encounter with goto with a car chase, things revert to a much smaller scale and we're reintroduced to this early stage of the plot term.
>>281306946WRT not getting very far, it's just very obviously artificially making a fateful encounter with final boss Gotou work in a story that hasn't had much of a sense of "cinematic plot magnetism" before that. It's not impossible and I don't blame anyone if it didn't break their suspension of disbelief especially on a first read, but the contrast with the rest of the story seems really obvious to me.

parasytes were sent by earth-chan after she got tired of earthchildren
Dungeon Meshi hadn't finished the last time I reread Parasyte and now I'm thinking of Laios stuff like Gotou would probably reinforce the lungs so they could process more air, and that he'd need to open up some extra air paths to them. All the Laios food and air stuff seems like such fundamental monster insight at this point I can't escape thinking it.
