Power level shit is awful. Dragonball got a pass because of the artstyle and build up to power levels as a concept and only really became meaningless later on.

Unless you plan on subverting or satirizing the concept with good writing it's the most dime a dozen form of wish fulfillment ever and becomes incredibly boring if it has nothing else going for it.
