She realized that Collecurei was so obsessed with gathering coins because it admired Surfugo and wanted to evolve into one, and was able to empathize with that since she herself admired Nanjamo in a somewhat similar manner. That made her decide she wanted to help it gather the coins it needed instead of just trying to avoid getting mind controlled.
