"I am forgotten" threads must be the most retarded meme that came out of this board:
>Manga/Anime comes out
>It's great and people enjoy it
>It ends on it's own terms as intended
>Story is finished, plot points settled
>Watchers/Readers move on with their lives after enjoying the experience
>Discussion naturally halts
>"NOOO WHY AREN'T THERE 24/7 THREADS AAA FORGOTTEN!!!"
There should be a forced therapy session for OPs making these kind of ""threads"".

Such is the nature of FOTM slop.

There are always stuff you can discuss about the series, all the more so on the internet where you can constantly meet new people many of which might have only seen the anime recently and want to talk about it, which is really what these threads are about.
I wouldn't have issue with people wanting to discuss stuff but they need to stop going about it in such a retarded insincere post-modern way, begging for attention; instead, they should make a proper thread.

why do you care? if people don't want to talk about it it will fall off the page in an hour, and if people do want to talk about it you don't have to enter them

This is a new phenomenon though, anime didn’t use to be forgotten as soon as it ended, people’s attention span got worse

more like there too many series for anyone to follow everything at once

The only way to usually get attention to a thread on 4chan in 2011+14 is to deliberately antagonise any possible contributors into replying and thereby bumping the thread.

Shows with long lasting threads is a testament to not only its popularity but also it's quality. For instance, it should be not surprising that generals for yuri shows last longer than those for het shows since the former is usually a lot better than the latter.
Example 1: Gundam Witch from Mercury, a yuri show, had its general last for at least six months after the show ended whereas Gundam Gquuuuuux, a hetshit show, had its general die almost immediately. Unsurprisingly, if you were to look critical reception for both shows, the WfM was considered to be one of the finest Gundam shows ever made whilst Gquuux was considered to be a train wreck.
Example 2: Bocchi the Rock's general still going strong compared to any other hetshit show.

Then why are people still talking about Eva or NHK? Could it possibly be that they had an impact on people unlike all the fotm slop that get produced nowadays?

they're specifically made by retards who make a point of not following anime when they air but instead wait until the whole thing is over to binge it
since they're retarded enough to do something like this they're too retarded to know how to make a proper OP to a thread

This, it’s impossible to keep a thread alive for something that isn’t a seasonal o shonenslop if you don’t put some smart bait in the op

the only thing its a testament to is how many shitposters can't handle losing an arbitrary set of daily ritual posts about that given show

It's quite literally an issue of secondaries and the lowest common denominators can't experience new things on their own so they just stick to the same few things they saw and got hard positive reinforcement first

Okay but some manga/anime live on for decades and I think anons are just pointing out it's kinda weird. Sometimes really good shows just disappear and sometimes mid shows go on to be memed for years.

I think the last airing anime I saw was Charlotte before 2010s anime was getting too bad to bear and I left, and I only came back when Abe was shot and I was reminded that Japan existed, and if I'm observing the historical record correctly, so did everyone else?
It looks like there was a mass extinction event on /a/ around 2016 when 4chan was getting as unbearable to use as anime was getting to watch, and to solve the demographic crisis jannies were forced to accept cultural enrichment from /v/irgins
and when people started to come back after anime started getting good again, these terrible posters want to pretend to be the oldfags, promoting as classics the same terrible 2010s anime that made us all leave in the first place
autistic moeshitters were already dug in to their generals and were unaffected
