>>281312459>tipssometimes, especially with anime and cartoons, it's easy to use the magic selection tool to get the inside of the character you want, you the "grow selection by..." feature to grow it by however many pixels will account for the character outlines, press crtl-i to invert the selection, and use that to mask away the background.
you can also try using the blur filter on the mask itself to fade the edges which can be useful when the source material has the lines bleed into the background and you don't want to to capture that bleeding in your crop
