>record of the lodoss war
is it actually good? Kinda seems like a chick-flick
not good
too basic and generic fantasyslop
If your standards are low enough to enjoy hollywood shit or shounen manga it's good
If you're an adult its shallow garbage
>good
I didn't approach it like that. When I was feeling down and wanted some immersive escapism s1 hit me like morphine. The "basic genericism" was a strength and the era of it's production so nostalgic. No goofy comedy, chuunism, annoying sidekick - just grounded classic adventure fantasy. the Lisa Simon english OP is one of my absolute favorites.
>>281299259>>281299234desu sounds cozy might check it out
>>281298715 (OP)It's terrible, but people get tricked into watching this because of the main girl, it's kinda Galko for boomers.
IF THE MORNING SUN SHOULD FREE ME
IT REALLY WOULDN'T LET ME GO
I'D STILL BE CAUGHT INSIDE YOUR LOVE
CAN'T RISE ABOVE
THE CHAINS OF YOUR HEART
It's not a chick flick it's non copyright infringing D&D played absolutely deadpan straight.
Depends on your perspective. The anime isn't really as big a deal as the novels were. For a westerner already familiar with Tolkien and his ripoffs from the 70's and 80's Lodoss will feel totally cliche. For a Nip, it was likely their first introduction to that sort of post-Tolkien fantasy at all.
No. It's a painfully generic and boring DnD fantasy anime that seems to have inspire the endless tide of narou-kei medieval demon-slaying series that are churned out nowadays. Deedlit and the dragons (despite their lack of animation) were the best things about it.
Parn is one of the worst main characters ever as well.
