I think the entire point of Ricardo is that his "good guy nature" really is just skin deep, which is why his master tried to defeat him, he realized that at his core he would always be evil under the surface. He can pretend to be good but it's always just an act, he knows how to sound good. His act was so good he even fooled himself, but you always get a glimpse of his real nature occasionally. Buffaloman was changed because his heart resonated with kinnikuman's heart of justice, but Ricardo is the opposite, the more he fights the more he realizes his nature is just evil

What have we learned today?
It is morally correct to kill someone because they look different from you
Killing someone who tried to kill you is bad
People are born evil depending on who their family was
>>281309124But that’s so demoralizing. Sure we shouldn’t be obsessed with telling kids to brush their teeth and eat their veggies in every piece of media to enforce some vague sense of right, but “he was born evil, sucks to be him, he can never change” is such a downer of a message. People are supposed to fit into the roles they were born into instead of finding themselves and shaping their life accordingly. What are we supposed to take away from that?
I think if we got into a different type of story, where we had Homelander types obsessed with social image and thinking that saving a few things through brute force makes them a better person, that kind of message might work, but even still there’s a lot of telling us that Ricardo’s an abomination and not a lot of showing what makes him particularly different from the earlier Olympic events.

>>281312449Thanks OP

>>281312688we knew it was coming. hes fighting the most popular character in the comic
>>281312082If this was the revival, illiounise would be the one realizing his friendship power here, not Kevin ironically. Kevin has no friendship, he fights for no one but his own selfish grudge, he would ironically have fairly weak friendship power unless he could fight for someone else
Illiounise in this moment fighting for Russia would be awakening a strong sense of duty/pride that would give him a glowing strength. He's embodying the feeling of a hero more than Kevin ironically.
>>281312329>Bell already rung>Enemy already down>Match already over>Chloe: Kill him kevin, kill him. No one shall live>Kevin: good show chapI guess that's the justice chojin way...
>>281312371didn't suguru tell you not to become a killing machine warsman?
>>281313281>Kevin has no friendship, he fights for no one but his own selfish grudgeAnon, in this chapter Meat literally says that Kevin started fighting better the moment he heard Chloe support him, and we've been shown several moments of Chloe having Kevin's back. Chloe IS his friend.
>>281313343Mother Russia is worse than anything Chojin combined, make example out of them

When are we calling the manga, Robin Mask Nisei?
>>281312371It's really hard to make Chloe look properly menacing.

>>281307365Aww, this is adorable. I hope Ricardo joins the gang. Even if as a jobber.

>>281313343>SuguruYou mean Bibimba
>>281318549Besides the messed up ideologies of the justice choujin this is what bothers me most. In the originals' heyday, at the worst the guy you defeated would remain an antagonist but he would have also gained a grudging respect for you. lol now they are maiming people and making them hate even more.
>>281317380I enjoy the idea he changed his name as part of his run-away-from-home shtick
Nisei's biggest two problems seem to be ffalling into the trap of "more edge = better" and not propely planning stuff out. The ricardo fight and any moral it had feels like it was made up week by week.
Even then you could still pull it off properly if you sit and think on it. But that fight also gets kicked in the knees by the base tone Nisei has and how it handles the choujin factions.
>>281320996I think "I'm going to have my OWN legacy" would have been a perfectly fine explanation for when he ran away, instead the explanation is dumb and doesn't make sense.
By the way, which one of you guys posts in /fgog/?
I know most people here have already read Nisei, but as a first timer, I want to share my crazy theory. I think that Kevin's mysterious second is actually Robin Mask in disguise. Kevin ran from home to escape his father's harsh training. Robin Mask disguised himself so he could continue to vigorously train and spend time with his son. Robin Mask also has a history of disguising himself due to his time training Warsman. He also taught Warsman the Palo special, which also lines up with Kevin knowing the Olap. Robin's reservations at the beginning of the Illoukhine fight are because he was uncertain about Kevin not upholding the family legacy, but they vanish as Robin realizes that Kevin is free to choose his own path as a choujin. However, I know this is Nisei, so something ridiculous is going to happen instead.
>>281324406It'd be funny if only to see Kevin seething but I just think it's Warsman desu
(Spoiler-y) Granted, it's less think than know since those threads already spoiled not-so-subtly several times but he's the only major Justice Choujin who hasn't made an appearance yet so I probably would have guessed it pretty early anyway
>>281318301At this point, what else does Mantaro have except being the protagonist? Kevin...
> has had 2 decent to good fights that have showcased his progression as a wrestler> has a cool coach that has total faith in him> is not a weirdo about the blood purity of justice chojins
>>281324881>It'd be funny if only to see Kevin seethingLmao, imagine being Kevin and finding out that the dad you hate so much you based your entire personality off it essentially became your best friend.
>YOU SHOULD BEG YOUR FATHER TO BEAT YOU HARDER YOU EVIL PIECE OF SHIT
What the actual fuck is his problem?
>>281325286Actually, yeah, it's really weird that the guy who was abused by his dad is told that it isn't enough of a reason to be evil and the guy who tries his hardest to be good but has evil parents get told he'll never be good.
>>281325286He's 15 and grew up spoiled for the first 14 years of his life. He has no concept of an abusive dad or no parents. Suguru would have had a much better time empathizing given Suguru's backstory(retconned and not)
>>281325286>Checkmate! Your image and style are really cool. You deserve to be the most popular with the girls. But...>Without love in your heart, you can never be a true superhero!>Unless if you're Brazillian. Fuck Brazil. What did Mantaro mean by this?
>>281320299I was referring to scramble when warsman started brutalizing manriko
>>281326144Ah, so what you're saying is that Mantaro is Marinette
>Ricardo got his ghost parents proud of him and two wannabe disciples that actually care about him
>Everyone else allowed themselves to get gaslit by Pashango's racism

These are the most heinous choujins according to this volume.
