Barragan destroyed himself with his powers, but Ulquiorra was slashed with a Zanpakuto and then died to a Cero from a Hollow/Shinigami hybrid, so he has a better chance of appearing lore-wise. Overall it doesn't really matter; all that matters is if Kubo wants either to be brought back.

Who knows. Aizen is supposed to be a genius manipulator and Ulquiorra was his most loyal soldier. The whole charade of Ulquiorra hiding his Segunda from him is nonsense (yes, I know about the reason cited in the databook; it's stupid) but there's a sliver chance Aizen genuinely did not understand what that power really entailed, since Ulquiorra is the only natural Arrancar apart from Starrk in his army, so he achieved his powers on his own. Unless someone is willing to ask about it on Klub and Kubo can make up a satisfying answer (like how Starrk was observed as a Hollow before he split by Aizen), we'll never know for sure.

Nobody detected his Reiatsu. Uryuu and Orihime shat their pants at Ulquiorra's SE, and it was felt even at the bottom when Chad says that presence finally disappeared. I think the issue is that Kubo himself stated he didn't want the fight to be so utterly one-sided, but he had to rush it. You get some clues from the fact that his Cero Oscuras aren't completely overwhelmed by White's Ceroes, as they cancel each other. He also managed to cut through White's horn with just a Luna, not even a Lanza. It really seems like that form, just like Dangai Ichigo, is a bit of a glass canon with incredible speed and strength as its biggest forte.
