Why the fuck did Kishimoto turn him into a Good guy after the timeskip and during the war arc?

The first time Itachi made an appearance in Naruto, Kishimoto made him look like an abusive brother who killed his family and then tortured Sasuke, physically and mentally, via Tsukuyomi.

After the time skip….right after he died. And during the war arc. hes suddenly the good guy who loves his brother?

Like dude, If you love Sasuke so much, why the fuck did you torture him, mentally and physically via tsukuyomi? You fucking showed his parents’ death on replay for 1 week via Tsukuyomi until Tsunade showed up. You almost plucked his eyeball out and you almost burned him with Amaterasu. Why the fuck would you do that?

He gave Sasuke character development by torturing him. It's a twisted relationship.
In the Naruto-verse you can do pretty much any evil thing and still be considered a good guy if you aren't acting selfishly.
Neji also tortures Hinata during their fight but gets forgiven for that

Because beneath is impassive demeanor he had been driven insane by grief and desperately wanted Sasuke to kill him. and some rational part of him believed that once Sasuke was strong enough to kill him, he could then wipe out the rest of Akatsuki and be the hero of leaf
