In season 1, Louise's being angry wasn't even a character attribute but a function of the story that made sense from the character's perspective which is why it naturally lessened over time.

After that it became a character attribute that existed for no reason and one of the many reasons it was shit after that. View season 1 as a self-contained story and it's actually decent, anything after that is just dumb harem comedy crap.

Was hardly a "gem", it was decent and enjoyable and had a decent plot comparable to Brother Bear and actually quite similar to it.

Anything after that was absolute trash harem comedy wish fullfilment with almost no redeeming qualities for anyone who isn't a lonely virgin trying to live out escapist fantasies. Well, that scene at the end of the second season where Saito took on the army alone had its charm but he should've just stayed dead with the story ending there. Saito sacrificing his life for Louise and everyone would be a fitting conclusion.
