They literally always make sense. Good anime are rated high (8+), decent anime are rated normal (7+) and bad anime are rated bad (6 and less). You are just contrarians.

MAL is populated by redditors and retards who gladly inhale slop, and therefore the actual scores are highly inflated, and popularity will either dilute or concentrate scores to the point that gleaning meaning from them is pointless.
