For the live action adaptation, the casting has leaned into this. That's not a mistake, or some weird ploy by the western producers, it's deliberate on the part of the man himself. If he says "to more accurately portray a real-world version of Arabasta, its native characters should have darker skin tones," then that's what's going to happen. And you can seethe all you like, but that's how it's happening.
And don't forget, the existence of a live action adaptation that deviates from the source material in terms of writing and execution does not erase the version of One Piece that already exists. You are allowed to have an opinion about liking or disliking either or both. Just be actually honest with yourself about the reasons instead of getting offended that a different version of the story is different in some ways.
