I'm not so sure. If the prosecutor is telling the truth about superiors in the Ministry backstabbing him, Yuki certainly has nothing to gain from meeting them. But if the visitors are genuinely friendly, then future access to them could become leverage for the prosecution, a carrot they could dangle in front of Yuki for cooperation.
To me it seems like Yuki recognizes hopes have their own risks associated with them, and he is deliberately cutting them off to bolster himself against slipping up. Smooth talk won't get under his skin if he actively makes decisions against his immediate self-interest. Or he could really be a super-corrupt grifter with a ridiculous amount of blind loyalty, or just plain nutty. It's usually hard to tell in the real world.

From wiki: On 11 October 2023, Suzuki resigned from Nippon Ishin no Kai following calls for his expulsion from the party after he visited Russia during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He stated, "I believe in Russia's victory" and "This war occurred because Zelenskyy did not adhere to the Minsk agreements."

Mineo bits feel a more compelling than Yuki's story to me, maybe that's just because being more scarce gives them more impact. It does seem kinda funny to be reading the story of the guy who was second fiddle to the real star of the show. Yuki's crime is being associated with Mineo's crime, Yuki's conviction is his belief in Mineo's convictions.

This seems like it's crossing another line. I'm get the idea that prosecutors will raise any sort of Hell they can to secure some sort of conviction, but saying "we'll drop charges if you quit politics" is just flat-out corruption. If it's actually legal for a prosecutor to make this demand, that's completely fucked.

>1 hardworking and talented

Suitable for being bosses because in their laziness they are good at streamlining operations and delegating to 1.

I'm also very curious, especially since it's about as controversial a topic as it could possible be. the only clue I found so far was from a random interview on Polygon:

>Cat Diary finds stretching beyond genre limitations without losing your illustrative voice. Considering that tough act, what’s been the greatest challenge in your career so far, an instance where you really had to stretch? And did it all work out as planned?

>Rasputin the Patriot was based off The Trap of the State, written by the diplomat-turned-author Masaru Satō. My editor proposed the project, and I had never worked on a socio-political manga before.
>Despite it being an adaptation, I’d say it was the hardest project I’ve worked on. I started out drawing it by myself, but things like the streets of Moscow and the Tokyo Detention House required a lot of effort, resulting in the first time I hired a professional assistant. Doing a manga based on the writing of Satō-sensei, who’s an intellectual monster, required a lot of research, and collecting reference material for that was also a major ordeal. The manga version was scripted by Takashi Nagasaki-sensei, who’s frequently worked with Naoki Urasawa-sensei, so I think it turned out to be an entertaining read.
