Big 3
I'm sick of seeing Zoomers and Spics try to make big 3 of each era. So let's do it our selves to find the definitive list. This is also a Jump Focused list so no Baki or other magazine series. I'm also basing these off of cultural influence and total sales.
Staring with the 80s
>Saint Seiya
>Fist of the North Star
>Captain Tsubasa
90s
>Dragon Ball (I'd argue it hit it's peak with the anime here)
>Slamdunk
>Yuyu Hakusho
2000s
>One Piece
>Naruto
>Bleach
2010s
>Boku No Hero
>Kinmetsu No Yaiba
>Haikyuu!! (Or Black Clover)
2020's
>Jujutsu Kaisen
>Chainsaw Man
>???

I didn't put Jojo in because it's not a single ear series like Baki it's one of the longest running in Japan of all time and has been around since the 80s.

The real big 3 were the friends we made along the way

The Big 3 represents the three manga that were the magazine's pillars at the time they were published, both in terms of popularity and sales. Saint Seiya manga was less popular than Ring ni Kakero. It's the anime that became a huge hit. That's why the final arc was a flop. It's almost the same with Kimetsu no Yaiba, in the magazine its influence was mediocre. Black Clover and Chainsaw Man also never were pillars.

Kinnikuman was the biggest 80's Jump manga before DB

Big 3 meant running at the same time for hundreds of chapters.
Bleach Naruto and One piece were concurrent for over 10 years. (Bleach started 2001, Naruto ended 2014)

I won't deny the cultural impact of the other manga, but jump was at its strongest when it had 3 major IPs.

MHA was a touchstone for sure.
The closest lineup would have been
OP/MHA/JJK

CSM is more famous here than in Japan.

Dr. Slump, Captain Tsubasa and Hokuto no Ken were also pretty big. The first broke an unprecedented per volume sales record. The second essentially kickstarted fujo culture. And the third was so popular that it served as inspiration for Dragon Ball.

JJK ended with a wet fart and CSM keeps declining with each volume

>Chainsaw Man
eh I don't really put that in the same basket
like when I think of "big 3" type series like bleach, naruto, and one piece, I don't really think of that.

So I'm not totally sure what I'd suggest for the current "big 3" beyond JJK

1st era
>Dragon Ball
>Fist of the North star
>Jojo's bizarre adventure

2nd era
>One Piece
>Bleach
>Naruto

3rd era
>My hero academia
>Demon slayer
>Jujutsu Kaisen

Eras require 100 million circulation and close proximity of start dates (give or take 5 years)
