I really like this anime so much. I swear if this anime had better production quality, it would be so much more a hidden gem. As far as Natsu is concerned, I am actually kind of curious as well to see when she comes back. Even if she does not come back this season, I have already bought all the translated novel available so far and I plan on reading them after the anime ends anyway

Why can't they just have a normal tea ceremony like the Chinese where you only need to know how to use the tea ware, consider the heat of the water, know the type of tea leaves you are using, and the brewing time of every serving? All the while you get to talk about stupid shit and eat dim sum with your bro(s). I bet the Chinese during the Tang dynasty (where Jap tea ceremony came from) weren't as stuffy or too fancy as the Japs in preparing their tea.

It's a simple episode but the little things that mark our soba-eaters history with rest of the cast are remarkably well done. If it were follow the usual trends I'd expect the story going wolf and cub while Jinya fights off that nationalist dude's demons but instead it genuinely focuses on his growth as a person over the years and him coming to terms with his regrets and his scars. It's a daring direction to take for an overtly seinen action character. Shame about its reception here, there's like maybe 10 more f/a/ns watching it than Un-go had.

It's a bit of a schlock premise, but the writer knows what he is doing and does a good job developing the characters. My only complaint is that the MC does not take the revenge plot seriously enough and basically waits until his demon half sister goes after him, instead of hunting her down. This episode would work much better if the main quest was already resolved and now if would be about the immortal half demon trying to find a purpose.

I didn't know the band for the OP was japanese.
Searched for the song, but could only find the tv version, so I assume it's a new release.

Agreed that the only thing it's lacking is better animation.
I love how this anime has subtlety and is not afraid of having the characters show their emotions when needed.
The way Jinya smiled was completely different from the way he did in all the previous episodes and he smiled more. Very different from the Jinya who had such a heavy conscience a few episodes ago.
The way things are being written I'm expecting imouto to go through her own development at this point.

Yeah the animation this episode was really bad
not that it's very important for a calm dialogue episode, but there were a lot of jarring cuts and not smooth jumps. It leaves me concerned for future action episodes.

That's my problem with the show as well, I guess it kind of makes sense he's such a bum when it comes to murdering his sister because he's too busy caught up in the lives of the people around him to really get anything done but it doesn't make much sense that in all this time she's only come around to fuck with him once with the demon sake incident.
Of course the animation quality has kind of taken a dive lately as well, not much can be done about that I guess
