is it mentally ill desu that I rewatched a bunch of anime because I'm scared I didn't watch them properly back in 2006/2007? And I obsess over whether I watched them properly back then? As in if I would just randomly skip scenes. This is something that's been eating me up all year long. As, in I watched Gurren Lagann seasonally, but I had to rewatch it recently because i'm scared I skippped some scenes. This is something that came out of nowhere this year. its mostly just Gaogaigar. I watched it backwards because I didn't know how torrents worked back then and internet was a lot slower.

That's normal, people read the same book yearly, actually well made films require multiple watches to dig through all layers, perspective is something that shifts multiple times as you age tooβ you will never watch the same work twice.
Even if it's not something you do routinely 20 years is a gap too long to not revisit something you like.

You're not mentally ill, you're mentally retarded.

this is very true. people who just watch one thing after the other endlessly dont know what they're missing out, whereas ive seen serial experiments lain over ten times and every time i find different ways to love it.
