The most difficult character to handle is Sumi, whose confession failed.
The next character to use this failed example was Shiunji, which also had an anime adaptation and is now the most popular Shiunji character.
If he's Asami's fiance, they introduced him in Joypolis, so there's no way they wouldn't explore it further.
First of all, Kazuya ignoring Asami's phone calls is a bit excessive; he should have at least called her back.
If Mizuhara's kiss was all he had on his mind, I really think there'll be some kind of action in the next episode or later.
Asami's desires have been revealed so far: she wants to be independent from her parents, but she can't.
She doesn't want to marry a man she doesn't love, but she's being forced to.
I'm sure she liked Kazuya because he had some similarities to her ex-boyfriend Urashima, but maybe it was pressure from her parents.
She broke up with him to avoid a repeat of Urashima, and then her rental girlfriend tried to take Kazuya, and her pride and everything else were torn to shreds, right?

It's not a failure, in the sense that it didn't get through to her, but he wasn't rejected or anything.
There's still more hope than with Ruka, who was clearly rejected... not really, lol.
But Miyajima could easily become a romantic comedy spice-up if he wanted to.
No one wants a resolution or salvation for Asami, and if they were to do that, how many more volumes would they have to pad out?
If they're going to do something like that, they should just focus on the resolution with Ruka.

!> In the first place, Kazuya ignoring Asami's phone calls is a bit excessive. Kazuya's perception of Asami is clear from Hawaiians, as she's a dangerous woman to get involved with, so it's probably the right thing to do.
