Brocken was the hardest to win over due to his loyalty towards kinnikuman and his pride

I think the blood brother oath side story kinda ruined it, pretending that brocken instantly joined, and actually it was the devil choking that were hard to convince

Personally I prefer ninja being a mercenary who will work with anyone if the money is good, and he doesn't disagree with their style. It's not about ideals for him, except when it is. And Ashuraman I could see joining the team for selfish reasons as well since he was already a bit interested in kinnikuman.
I never thought of ninja and Ashuraman as justice chojin, just that they didn't care enough about alliance to hate working with justice chojin. When soldiers team was first revealed they openly called themselves a hodgepodge team of justice and devils. The only thing that united them was a blood oath, and mutual respect.

It's actually surprising how much better this series works without Meat acting as Mantaro's babysitter. Like, Meat's friendship with Suguru felt genuine, but his relationship with Mantaro always feels like he's grudgingly doing it as a favor to his dad. Getting rid of him and replacing him with new characters that fill his roll feels so much better.

Hell, Kuan's only been around for one volume and he already feels more like "Mantaro's Meat" than Meat ever did.

The problem is not Meat's role, but that Mantaro's friend group doesn't feel like a friend group. I think Meat being a babysitter that takes on the role of the person who makes Mantaro do unfun things because someone has to would work if the others took on the part of actually liking Mantaro.
