Reminder that Frieren spells out to you the reason Demons are evil creatures and these morons unironically fall for it in real life.

>person who's entire existence is just a series of words divorced from her nonexistent will in order to simulate the effect of an independent agent in the mind of the audience complains about people falling for this exact thing
The problem with trying to use p-zombies as an actual practical enemy in fiction is that fiction only works because people will sympathize with words that they explicitly know don't come from a real individual, but have been made up in order to get a specific emotional reaction. When you're in that frame of mind, why wouldn't you sympathize with other characters that are completely indistinguishable from the supposedly "truly" human characters?

None of them are actually humans.

They're not p-zombies, you're using the term wrong. They're fully sapient individuals and capable of thought and introspection even if their minds are fundamentally inhuman.

Presumably the same way most animals communicate with each other - pheromones, body language, micro expressions and various chirps growls and whistles
What usually happens in evolution is that existing systems get expanded or repurposed for different means so it's not unlikely that demons would eventually use their ability to mimic human sounds to communicate with each other because language can be more subtle and information dense than chirping and clicking
(It's also more compelling narratively as the audience would probably just get confused if all the intra-demon communication was animalistic)

Could also allow to have two conversations simultaneously, useful if you expect that someone is potentially spying/eavesdropping on said convo.

I struggle to think of a single instance of demon behavior that isn't just something human assholes do sometimes. Literally the only thing is someone, even the demon themself sometimes, turning to the camera in going "hah, you fell for it, I was just lying." Which is, again, something people do all the time with displays of emotion or reason.

It's a poor attempt at the idea that is fundamentally impossible to pull of successfully. And certainly not with characters indistinguishable from humans even in moments where there's really no reason they have to be.

Demons are exactly like zoomers. They are 100% completely incapable of feeling empathy. They're literally non-sentient beings, just creatures of pure id and malice. In fact they have even less emotional response than non-human mammals.
