Not /a/, but I urge you to read Dungeon Twlight. The premise is quite similar to Laios becoming Dungeon Lord. The whole franchise is great (though you should probably read Zenith and Early Years alongside it).
And to answer your question, the Winged Lion is effectively going to be in charge, so that's irrelevant.

Being a dungeon master means it's basically impossible for him to be tard wrangled by people around him, eventually his monster fixation would overtake everything else and he'd end up either getting his desires eaten, releasing the demon again, or getting assassinated by the elves. King Laios only works because he's surrounded by people who can support him and keep him in check
