Yeah, I really don’t take these seriously. The episode was fine, good even imo given its effectively the first of a 2 parter. I’m not a fan of pointless conflict between characters but what’s been shown here is pretty consistent with how Roy and Uruto have acted and I like that they add a bit more spice to a group that was otherwise pretty chummy. The episode also forces Roy to reflect on how he views Roy after he was pretty dismissive of him for up to this point. Rayu isn’t an amazingly written character and I can get not caring for how selfish he acted but for a CotD I think he was handled well enough. Overall the episode wasn’t mind blowing but its definitely not one of the worst.

I don't actually mind Roy here, I've liked how Roy was presented as the more mature of the two (and in this case basically acting like Uruto's nagging mom). Compared to how he used to be I've overall liked how he's presented in Mega Voltage.
As for the Dragonite reveal, I'm fine with it depending on how next episode plays out. I'm not bugged by the choice in Pokemon, just how the Pokemon acts and the mystery behind why Uruto had its ball.
