Thankfully, I managed to find a wife and a couple of friends who enjoy this shit as much as I do. But most people will never have that, and I feel even worse for them. It's hard to stay involved in a hobby (even a good one) if there's nobody pushing you to stick with it, and especially while the whole world is trying to push you out of it.
Besides us, who even watches "classic anime" anymore? Who fucking lurked more when they were told to? Where is the goddamned retirement community of oldfags? There are a handful of people on YouTube that are truly committed. But, most of the crowd today is young faggots who think their assholes will be tight forever, even as industry execs keep blowing them out year after year. "New good, old bad" they say. Meanwhile, just look at how far the English dubbing industry has fallen in the last 20 years. This is not even a matter of subjective opinion... Nobody who thought they were getting on an escalator 15 or 20 years ago has actually gotten anywhere. Monica Rial and her faggot friends are working the Glock-Glock-Lie 9000 until they die. If anything, it has become even more insular than before, because big names like Vic Mignogna are getting delisted from the credits in their own anime. People are being kicked out of the industry faster than they can be replenished. The last big name to be made, I think, was probably Christina Vee, and that was 20 goddamned years ago. She is an old ass woman now, and still voicing teenage girls.
Did any of you even try to turn on the English audio for Castlevania? Probably not, because dubs are still for faggots, and Castlevania is not even really an anime. But, this is really worth pointing out: Some of those lines were recorded on fucking USB ball microphones. Any notion of maintaining a high standard of quality has been completely abandoned, because this is a dead hobby. It is chronically being mishandled by executives, and its corpse is now being consumed by political miscreants.
