Yeah the Oni mission without psi powers is a fucking massacre, good luck killing that pyro-oni without losing 4+ dudes.
I think the stone oni can be fought normally with cannon + Y-gun.
For the thunder-oni/boss... well good luck pals, we had a good run, PSI powers are needed if you don't have a H-gun.
Honestly if we have all the meta knowledge we can do the Buddha mission well, since we know the weak point of that fucker, otherwise it's a question of how much gruesome factor we have in the team, with the guys that like to shoot at corpse like Nishi and that gun otaku versus guys that do their kill and move on.
One thing to note is that most enemies that are resistant to the cannon/pistol are "weak" to the Y-gun, after all the thousand hands kannon was weakened thanks to that, so I suggest a more balanced spread of items, possibly avoiding everyone being a katanafag.
