try to avoid fillers, filler characters show up in the background of cannon episodes. Lot of the hype's based off of twists that might be spoiled for you by now. 2 arcs have the same set up.

Watch it up to episode 228 (the swimsuit beach episode), then skip all the way to TYBW. I think there are some movies too. If you really, really love the series then watch the rest, please note there's an entire arc dedicated to fighting their own swords which filtered me pretty hard. You can refer to the wiki to find which episodes / arcs are filler.

Yes, but not tybw. It's fucking awful. Don't let the astroturfing online fool you. Most of the fans watching it in the beginning already dropped it like the manga fans did when it came out.
