I only find adventure stories interesting in well built worlds. In settings where the author is just making shit up as they go it all feels boring and pointless.

Yes and no? It certainly the most successful and certainly among the best adventure shonen, but as far as adventures go, Dungeon Meshi, Made in Abyss, Golden Kamui are clearly better.
OP also suffers of terrible quality inconsistencies between arcs and chapters

Nah, it's a battle show with some adventure flavor added. No, being more adventure-focused than Naruto or JJK isn't a claim to fame, btw. Even out of ongoing battle shonen, Frieren has more actual adventure.
I'd say Mushoku Tensei is the most proper fantasy adventure anime I've seen up to date, its the one that truly captured the vibe of adventure. And it also had the best-looking visuals

lol fucking no, OP's cultural relevance is self contained, it hasn't inspired as many other series as it s relevance might give you the impression.

I dunno why inspiring other series is used like it's the ultimate barometer of relevance. One Piece would be difficult to imitate, Oda is a bit idiosyncratic.

HxH is not adventure. The DC arc could be on its own an Adventure arc but generally HxH is more of a psychological thriller than anything else.
I think adventure anime and manga are the best early on when the author just pulls random insane locations out of his ass, and you never know what's gonna come next.
Pretty much as soon as the world is "explained" through some way of filling up as many plot holes as possible with logic, the show loses like 50% of its appeal.

I agree. Still, i think the worst part is when the MC just stops interacting with nature as a puzzle, and it becomes just routine. In One Piece's case, when they had to collect materials or solve the way to navigate was kino in comparison to just travel from A to B to fight with the local cartels.
