Fun fact.
The “have you eaten yet” is actually a nice pun.
Basically in early half of 20th century, starvation was still quite common both in Japan and especially in China. So when their government got rid of most of the famine and people started eating a lot, “have you eaten yet” become a form of greeting for the people of that time, especially in small villages.
So having the old geezers of the community saying it makes for a fun pun within the context of Kiseju
