the math-school chairman is definitely a bigwig in the math world who organizes parties so he could very easily be involved in math ceremony shit and has already introduced kai to his circle of math-school related partygoers including politician guy with mathematician daughter who is friend of mathematician awards guy. it's not a big social graph but kai is in it in lots of spots.
