Magic is literally breaking the world over your knee and the world doesn't like you doing it. We got the explanation for this ages ago, how do people still not know? The world doesn't like there being fire where it didn't want there to be fire, but you can force it to happen by abusing mana. If you do that too much eventually the world itself punishes you for it and you go mad.
Blessings are granted by that thing so they would be the only system considered natural and world approved, every single other thing falls under "magic", the manipulation of mana to make things that aren't real that you want to happen, happen.

This show is bad. It doesn't lean in to the fact that the main character goes back in time when he dies. There's all sorts of lame drama with no stakes and he doesn't willingly reset enough. Also the main character whining and crying so much is insufferable.

The Tom Cruise film Edge of Tomorrow handles this premise better.
