I think Grand Blue is funny. I think Lord of Mysteries is intriguing. I think Summertime Render had good romance. I think Golden Kamuy is fun. I think Frieren was pretty good even if normalkeks overhyped the shit out of it (as they tend to do). I think that even if OP is baiting, a lot of you /a/nons actually do believe this and should go beyond the mainstream hype AotS shows to find something you like.

I'm sure you haven't even scratched the surface of older anime. So you could watch those. Or read manga. Both old and new. If you don't like something then don't force yourself to watch/read it. Instead look for things you do like. The people who say shit like this are often the same ones forcing themselves to watch a dozen or more ongoing anime, none of which they actually like. Obviously that will cause burn out.

If you want something different you basically gotta dig through older stuff or niche adaptations. The mainstream pipeline isn't gonna give you anything fresh anymore. Most of the anons here will dismiss your thread because they find safe formula slop isekai #9999, highschool harem #842, shounen with "power of friendship" #13745 enjoyable to watch

Extraordinary anime has always been that, extraordinary. Back in the day localization left out a lot of the really bad ones and delay in localization allowed people to abnormally enjoy several good ones back to back.

It´s mostly a perception issue. Good anime is still being made. That said i won´t deny that even among the good ones we don´t exactly get the quality of things like GITS or Spirited Away but there are still enough anime worth watching being produced.

Anime reached its peak in the period between 2010 - 2016, and fell off dramatically since. This was due to a multitude of factors:
