It's, not even close, Kubo wrote the perfect girlfriend archetype in Rukia (magical girl comes out of nowhere, gives you powers and a new life, cute small with your same interests and humor, LIVES IN YOUR LITERAL CLOSET, etc..) then decided to write Ichigo be a fucking faggot and never acknowledge there were feelings between the 2.

Yet they still exploit the Ichigo and Rukia dynamic which is the sad part. The merch, anniversary, games are still Ichigo and Rukia heavy. You rarely see Orihime promoted. Kubo couldn't even write Orihime interacting with Ichigo in the hell arc. Something is off here.

Even their farewell at the end of soul society, just change the words a little into them accepting this is impossible and that they should go their own separate ways and it'd be a nice conclusion to that subplot even if he can't write it. Just have Rukia go all dramatic

Add some blushes faces and stuff, it was so easy to make the farewell a bit more romantic. Problem is that Kubo supposedly never saw them that way but that's beyond oblivious and probably a lie, because he has Orihime get jealous before Hueco Mundo telling to Rangiku how close those 2 are and that Ichigo probably loves her, so in universe others saw it that way too.

With the Ichihime hug, they couldn't even bother to have Ichigo look at her sensually. He put up a face for Riruka but not Orihime? Nor did they animate it as well. Nothing about this makes any sense. Does Kubo actually ship these two or was he forced??

Ichiruki was always the only pairing that made sense, because they actually interact and having a relationship.
