Official preview:
Umi confides in Hairi that she came to Torishirojima relying on a hidden photograph of her mother that her father had.
Umi seems to have fallen off a cliff after chasing a Shichieichou. After hearing her story, Hairi understands that Umi is his child from the future. He also understands that Umi's mother, his future partner, is Shiroha.
Hairi renews his determination to grant Umi's wish for a "fun summer vacation". He decides to boldly approach Shiroha to ask her to be a mother to Umi once more.

Because of the anime entering Alka I replayed the game for the first time in 6 years, this time Reflection Blue. Overall I'd say just playing Reflection Blue gives you 100% of the experience, but playing the regular version first and then RB gives you 120%. The difference between the original ending and the new one isn't that many lines, like maybe 10-15 minutes, but it really has a huge impact on how it leaves you feeling. I'd say the original is bittersweet but hopeful, while the new one is a guaranteed happy ending. That's why I hope the anime goes with the original ending, playing through the entire game again, especially Alka, after having done Pocket just makes what happens so much more heartbreaking, and makes the ending of Reflection Blue have double the impact so that's a good thing for people who want to play the game after watching the anime. I really hope they keep the ending song with the original lyrics instead of the new one, this probably won't be an issue if you don't understand Japanese, but personally I like the original lyrics way more, even if the new ones fit the story better.
Shiki's route is pretty good so if she ends up not being in the anime that's just another reason to play the game for animeonlies.
Also get fucked Tenzen my little girl and me kicked your ass.

They really toned down Shiroha's grandfather's rage when Umi called Shiroha her mama and Hairi her papa.
You can feel his anger burning in the VN before it sizzles away.

There aren't many visual novels that focus on the parent's relationship with the children, if the children show up it's usually only for a short time at the very end.
I need some explaining. I never played any VN besides some hentai like 20 years ago. I remember some used to have a mechanic that once you played through all routes, you unlock a bonus route (usually a harem one). Is Umi's route such a bonus route?

I would say a lot of the Alka route hit notes that both guys and girls would enjoy since at that point is about a couple and their daughter and not strictly a male harem power fantasy at that point (even if the other girls show up as a joke here and there). And then in the last arc "Nanami" is the main character so that probably appeals to girls as well.

Multiple timelines make no sense because infinity growth is not practical.
Running one timeline and letting an NPC go back to a save point makes far more sense. Then just deal with the extraneous element as you please.

In the side-game Shimamon, of the 4 god/heavenly kings of the island, only 1 (Shiroha's granddad/Naruse Kobato) can be guaranteed to be caught with the item "Umi's pantsu" while the rest want alcohol. This is a reference to his VA being a lolicon.
