Loli is going to go nuclear against Lin Ling. The majority of the heroes will probably do the same. Either way, Lin Ling will have a hard time in season 2

I'm kind of struggling to figure out the other match ups. I think Johnnies will get Ahu as one of their match ups. Ghostblade has quite a few options, but I feel like it's likely Johnnies and E-Soul. Queen and Cyan are likely going to be a match up. I am not sure if X even has to fight the others or if he just has to fight whoever beats everyone else, but considering Bowa got knocked out by X when she was still X then he likely has to participate unless they change the rules.

Lin Ling, Yang and Cyan all had characters that seemed like defined love interests. Lin Ling got to see his love interest shot in the head, Yang discarded his love interest due to shitty personal choices and Cyan's just disappeared from the show, but I feel like that has more to do with the arc format. If he doesn't appear in the second half at all when Cyan gets some focus then they just wrote him off.
We also really don't know what is going to happen in the second half of the show since it should be much more linear in presentation.

it's funny that Lin Ling was the initial draw of this show to most of its audience, and now he's barely relevant to the ongoing plot. It's not even like the plot that's happening without him isn't good, but they're two separate things. The rest of the top 10 have all these complex relationships with each other, and then there's this dork with no history or importance to anyone.
In fact, Lin Ling's whole hero persona is to be a literal self-insert for the fans (anyone can become a hero) so it makes me wonder if it's intentional.

I feel like that is partly intentional. Lin Ling is a complete newcomer who has no links to any other hero, aside from E-Soul who essentially forced a connection by killing Moon, and he's also clueless about what is going on behind the scenes.

I actually don't understand his disappearance. He survived, and from Cyan's POV, he's a very important character to her. Realistically, I would have expected at least a brief scene where Cyan talks to Lou on the phone before receiving another call from Queen. But, frankly, all the female characters here seem pretty poorly written to me. There's the usual problem of writers wanting to include female characters purely for aesthetics, not for development.
