It's that simple.

Isn't there exactly one poster left who would be baited by this and hasn't figured out that isekai as a genre as defined by the Japanese is only set in another world from the perspective of the reader, that isekai tensei is the subgenre that needs to be specified, and "native isekai" is redundant? Because I feel like most anons would just read that and go naruhodo and not be so hung up on the shitty wrong definition that western e-celebs decided for themselves

It's funny how bots saw a Dragon Quest comparison once and now mindlessly regurgitate it everywhere.

You will need to paint it all green once Himmel is revealed to be an isekaijin.

"Native Isekai" is a lame, forced meme.

Why does it read like you want to play stupid?
I see this, and I can clearly see isekai or not, it's really about how these aren't fleshed worlds, instead being video game stand in landscapes, as opposed to a proper living breathing world. We should expect from media like novels or shows.

To try and instead suggest I should just get lost in the Forrest and go
>Naruhodo
At only quality.. I think is stupid. We should be honest and talk about how even if it's not technically iseaki, if it has hallmarks of isekai. Aka sucking total balls. We should call it out and limp these together. And not give passes because elf feet are erotic!
Jap isekai, and Jap native isekai, they are not proper worlds nor good stories

It literally is, and it angers isekaifags when you point it out.

"tensei" is "native" in japanese obviously

>>281582224
You're probably trolling, but tensei is reincarnation and if anything it'd be the opposite.
>>281578573
DQ-world is the standard setting, it's got nothing to do with bots and everything to do with familiarity. Just like 99% western fantasy for 100 years has been affected by Tolkien, 99% of Japanese fantasy in the last 20 years has been affected by DQ.
>>281578550
fpbp, but it should be noted that calling Berserk or Frieren "isekai" is technically correct but not really helpful. It's like calling Baccano "historical" because it's set (mostly) in the prohibition era.
I would assume most Japanese people use isekai as a short form of isekai tensei/ten'i (η•°δΈ–η•Œθ»’η”Ÿγƒ»θ»’η§») because in those cases, the fact that the world is a different world compared to that of the reader plays an important factor.

You literally have a perfect definition of it in the OP.
I can guess what genre you like by your IQ

It's a term people are trying to force for some reason.
>>281582525
It's not perfect because it doesn't make sense. Your pattern recognition is just starving for an easy to remember name for what's really just stories set in DQ inspired overworlds without an external protagonist from a world based in ours.

that's how words and language work, yes
Anonymous No.281582578

Yes, but native isekai is a poor name to use because you're stretching the definition of both words based on misunderstood definitions.
