The Association mages are way too arrogant imo. They’re strong obviously, but they’re trash compared to Frieren and inferior to Fern (who is a super genius). They are going to wreck the Shadow Warriors. You know, I hope the SWs bring out a few demons to teach these mages the terror of humans facing their natural predators. They need to get way more urgent and self-aware about getting stronger.

Should I read the manga?
I loved the anime but I feel like it would be less emotionally impactful in black and white and unmoving images, so I'm wondering if its worth waiting for season 2 to be animated

The only other elves we saw so far that are much older than Frieren not only saw Frieren as a kid and still young, but have physiology far more comparable to adult humans.
In addition you have signs from Frieren as a person that show indications of a teenage girl, while muddied through the fact of her age and experience obviously affecting it.
Yet other people that spend time with her seem to realise this.
Obviously Eisen and Heiter noticed this, which can be seen in how they treated her, but so did Sein and Fern.
Fern while having been raised by Frieren and having spend at this point more time with her than with Heiter does not perceive her as a mother figure, instead she sees herself as a sort of big sister to Frieren.
