Season 3 died because they didn't plan to make one. At the time KyoAni only made two seasons + a movie, some times with some OVAs at best, like with K-On or Chuunibyou. Aya Hirano was in a lot of other anime after that And she came back as Haruhi in The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan so seriously nobody have a shit about sleeping with band members, excluding evy tryhard fans who fantasied they would be ones fucked by her.
The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan was a test and was not that popular, so KyoAni is not going back to this franchise.
