I enjoy manga more than ever

Nothing because it won't ever happen to me, I have a good taste and there is always good anime to watch.

Haven't really enjoyed anime in years, and I'm getting tired of most manga. I'm also scanlating, but I've burnt out from that and I'm just not able to work on anything right now.
I think I just need a break from it all really.

A sated palate has no need to be challenged with something different or new, especially when it can eat the same crap over and over in many different forms and never be bored by it.
It's way easier to argue with people who do not eat said crap by telling them their taste is bad, than to feel the uncertainty of having to taste different shit daily

What's going on with the industry? it seems like 90% of the shows these days are "comfy" anime that are made to just burn time as you wait to die.

Just look at the seasonal chart, current season has a pretty good selection.

I've been a NEET for around 13 years now watched all the anime, played all the games, read all the manga and books I was interested in etc

my life now is a battle against tedium, I reccomend anons to never clear out their backlogs because it creates a horrible existential dread when you no longer have good escapism to look forward to

You have a huge backlog to become properly media literate.
Watch films.
Read actual literature.
Start learning Japanese.
Your interest will come back.

t. 40yo who's been through this phase 4 times already
